Assistant Director
Sarah Schliesmann
Sarah Schliesmann is originally from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a degree in Natural Resources and minored in Youth Programing/Camp Management as well as other subjects. She continued her education at Minnesota State University, Mankato and received her Master's in Experiential Education.

Sarah is now the Assistant Director at Cheerio Adventures. She's worked seasonally at Adventures for multiple years and decided she never wanted to leave camp! She loves being able to watch campers discover their strengths and self-confidence while sharing her passion for the outdoors. Sarah's favorite part of working at Cheerio Adventures is never having the same day twice; there is always new campers to meet, new challenges to conquer, and new adventures to find!

Matt is one of the Program Directors at Cheerio Adventures. The outdoors provide the perfect setting to help people of all ages challenge themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually while also having a fun and beautiful experience. He also just enjoys the fact that his job requires him to play outside from time to time.

The caliber of staff is an important aspect of a quality camping program. Cheerio Adventures staff are chosen with care and are trained and experienced in the activities they teach and lead. They possess a genuine interest in young people and an ability to share their knowledge, enthusiasm, and understanding with them. All of our staff are certified in American Red Cross CPR and Wilderness First Aid. In addition, most of the staff are certified as Instructor by the American Canoe Association. Each Cheerio Adventures session is guided by a coed staff team.

Our staff come from many walks of life, but have the commonality of love of youth, the outdoors and teaching outdoor skills. The staff all have a background in wilderness activities. Many of our staff have been participants with the program in their youth. Some come from States as far away as California, Maine, Florida and countries such as Canada, Sweden, and South Africa to name a few. Regardless of where they come from they are of the highest caliber, moral stature and possess a giving nature.
