Henry EnochsHenry Enochs will be joining the Camp Cheerio Staff again this summer as a Junior Counselor for Coed Camp. This will be Henry's 11th summer on the mountaintop. Henry is from Greensboro NC and enjoys playing tennis, snowboarding, and surfing. He likes working with the children at Cheerio as a counselor because it is an amazing experience and kids are generally happy people to be around. An interesting fact about Henry is that he is adopted. He is looking forward to another summer seeing his old campers, camp friends, and meeting new of both.

Ashley AndrewsAshley Andrews is from Raleigh and attends Elon University where she is studying creative and professional writing. One day she hopes to write for a publication, but in the meantime, she is thrilled to be returning as a Senior Counselor for Cheerio. Camp Cheerio provided some of her best memories as a child and she looks forward to giving the same experience to her campers. Ashley's favorite snack is apples and peanut butter and she owns a pet Chinchilla.

Marie JohnsonMarie Johnson attends Meredith College in Raleigh and will be joining us on our Kitchen and Activity Staff this summer. Her home is The Gambia, a tiny country in West Africa, but she has lived in Raleigh the last several years. Marie loves food and loves to cook, but her all time favorite entrée is pot roast, while her favorite snack is an Almond Joy or Kit Kat Bar. Marie is excited to use her summer being busy and fruitful, along with playing a part in molding the lives of children. In her free time, Marie enjoys movies, sewing, baking, walking, reading, and napping.

Tracey PowellThis will be Tracey Powell's 37th summer at Camp Cheerio. Tracey began her days as a camper and has worked in many other areas of camp as well. Currently, Tracey is our Summer Office Administrator. She chooses to work at camp because she couldn't imagine spending her summer any other way. Tracey's favorite camp meal is fajitas, and her favorite snack is fresh fruit. She enjoys swimming, walking, being outdoors, and reading. She still hasn't decided what to do when she grows up...

David McDonaldAlthough he lived a short life as a celebrity, being invited to be on stage with Adele at her concert, David McDonald is still planning to return to Cheerio this summer for his 4th year. David is from High Point NC, but attends UNC Chapel Hill, where he will graduate with a Masters in May. His happiest moment, outside of meeting Adele is when UNC won the NCAA Basketball Tournament this year. David loves peanut butter pretzels, listening to music, watching Oscar-nominated films, and mostly being at Camp Cheerio working with children.

Gracie ChavesGracie Chaves will be joining us this year for her first summer at Camp Cheerio. Gracie is from Winston-Salem NC and attends UNC Chapel Hill where she is studying Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Chemistry. She will be working as a Senior Counselor and on our Aquatics Staff. Gracie loves ice cream and cheese crackers as snacks. Gracie has a goal of providing great camp experiences to the campers, as she had growing up. Gracie enjoys hanging with her friends, playing lacrosse, and is an AVID fan of Criminal Minds on Netflix.

Jerron BaldwinWe are excited to welcome back Jerron "Bubba" Baldwin again this summer. Bubba will serve his 3rd summer with Cheerio as the Director of Arts. He studies Theater Drama at University of Wisconsin Stevens Point where he plans to pursue a career in working with children and theater. Bubba comes to us all the way from Kenosha Wisconsin and he looks forward to seeing past campers and meeting new. Bubba is trained in 4 types of singing and lives by his motto, "Choose Happy". In his free time, you will find Bubba, hanging with friends, playing video games, and eating pretzels and cheese.

Skyler ShieldsSkyler Shields is spending another summer with Camp Cheerio on our Climbing Staff. Skyler is from High Point NC and attends University of Alabama. He is studying Finance with the plans to attend Law School. This year at school he has served as his fraternities Kitchen out Martyn! Skyler enjoys watching a game or a good movie, and believes in giving of himself to make a positive impact on a child's life is awesome.

Kayla DevineKayla Devine is coming for her 4th summer at Camp Cheerio and is very excited to be able to work with children. She hopes to be the same type of positive role model her counselors and staff were to her. Kayla is from Pinehurst NC and plans to attend University of Washington in Seattle in the fall where she will join the Army ROTC. Serving others brings Kayla happiness, especially when what she is doing causes the other person to be happy as well. Her favorite camp food (and song) is Rigatoni and her favorite snack is apples and peanut butter.

Alyssa RaneyAlyssa Raney, from Yorktown PA will be joining our Aquatics Staff this summer for her first at Camp Cheerio. As a student at Virginia Commonwealth University, Alyssa studies Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science. She hopes to provide rehabilitative and physical therapy to children in hospitals one day. Alyssa loves the mountains and children, so feels Camp Cheerio is a perfect fit for her summer. During her free time, Alyssa enjoys running, walks with friends, and spending time with her dog, a little Schnoodle, a Miniature Schnauzer and Poodle mix.

Ben BrownAfter several years as a camper, Ben Brown is finally joining us on staff as a Senior Counselor. Ben is from Raleigh NC and attends UNC Chapel Hill, where he is currently studying business. When Ben has free time, he enjoys sports, especially basketball, and fishing. Many of his best memories growing up were from being a camper at Cheerio, so he is looking forward to hanging out with his campers and providing the same experiences. A couple of fun facts about Ben is that his sister Gracie also works at Cheerio and he can also make his shoulder blades stick out like wings!

Trey WoodyTrey Woody is returning to work this summer for his 3rd summer on staff and 7th overall. Trey will be a part of our Climbing Staff for Girls Camp and a Senior Counselor for Coed. Growing up as a camper and having great counselors is why Trey is excited to be a Senior Counselor. He understands the importance of providing a fun and safe environment for his campers. Trey is from Cornelius NC and attends Lees-McRae, where he is on the ski team and is studying Sports Administration.

Walker HarrisWalker Harris is looking forward to returning to Camp Cheerio as a Senior Counselor this summer. After being a Junior Counselor the last two summers, Walker is excited to see his cabins of kids as an SC grow from strangers on the first day to being the best of friends at the end of a session. Walker attends Wake Forest University and is studying Political Science and History. Occasionally, you will hear Walker addressed by his nickname, Texas Ranger. He loves Oreos, hanging out and playing music, and playing sports.

Elizabeth SloopElizabeth Sloop is a new member to our Staff at Camp Cheerio. She is from Melbourne FL, but attends Barton College in NC. Elizabeth is excited to meet new people and gain new experiences at Cheerio this summer, all while working to be a positive impact on the children around her. She is studying Broadcast Journalism and enjoys making those around her laugh through comedy and witty jokes. Elizabeth sees herself as a person always looking to evolve and grow, through meeting new people, travel, art, and music. Welcome to Cheerio Elizabeth!

Ella CoyneElla Coyne is from Winston-Salem and will be a part of our Riding Staff this summer. Ella is a rising High School Senior in the Visual Arts Department at UNC School of the Arts. She hopes to pursue a career in either interior architecture or scientific illustration. In addition to the arts, Ella loves sports, animals, and comics. She enjoys hiking and hanging out with friends in her spare time. Welcome to the Cheerio Staff Ella!

Harrison MohlHarrison Mohl, from Jamestown NC will be joining the Cheerio this summer on the Kitchen/Activity staff for Girls Camp and as a Junior Counselor during Coed Camp. Harrison is an avid mountain biker and plans to be a part of the Cycling Team as he attends Liberty University in the fall. During his free time, Harrison enjoys watching films and reading. For a snack, his favorite is any type of Quest Bars. Harrison was a camper at Cheerio when he was younger and he is looking forward to building new relationships with his campers this summer.

Lindsey BraxtonThis will be Lindsey Braxton's 10th summer at Camp Cheerio, but first on Staff. Lindsay is excited to be returning to a place that she loves, being able to reconnect with friends and provide a wonderful summer for the campers. Lindsay is from Charlotte NC and attends UNC Chapel Hill where she is studying Data Analytics. Her favorite camp meal is chicken tenders. We look forward to having Lindsay back at Cheerio another summer.

Robert Haugh, pronounced like Hawk, will be a new member to the Cheerio Staff this summer. Currently Robert attends Liberty University where he is studying Elementary Education. One day, Roberts hopes to work full time for a YMCA as a Youth or Program Director. Robert enjoys being outside, spending time either relaxing in his Eno or finding new places. He has hiked over 50 miles on two different occasions on the Appalachian Trail. His favorite food is pizza!

Heather DuffeyPlease welcome Heather Duffey to our Cheerio Staff. Heather will be working all summer on our Climbing Staff. Currently Heather attends Appalachian State University and is studying anthropology with a concentration in archaeology. Her desire in working for Cheerio is to help children test the edges of their comfort zone, and learn new things. Those are the opportunities and experiences from her own childhood that she values the most, and wants to pass on those experiences. Heather loves trail mix with dark chocolate M&Ms.

Trip HolzwarthTrip Holzwarth will be joining Camp Cheerio this summer as part of our Kitchen/Activity Staff. Trip is from Winston-Salem and is excited for the opportunity to be in the mountains and meet new people. During her free time, Trip loves to hang out with friends, listen to music, read, and do photography. Camp is the perfect atmosphere for Trip because she comes from a big family and loves being around groups of people and noise. Her personal motto is, "Be happy with who you are".

Hannah LuperHannah Luper was a Cheerio camper for 4 summers, but this will be her first with us as a Staff Member as part of our Riding Staff. Hannah is from Wilmington NC and will be a sophomore at Liberty University in the fall where she is studying Digital Media Audio. Hannah enjoys listening to music, hanging out with friends, taking pictures, and riding horses. She is excited to be at Cheerio this summer to work with the children and become a positive influence for them for their future. Sushi is Hannah's favorite food.

Ryan GeitnerRyan Geitner is from Hickory, North Carolina but has attended a boarding school in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania for the past four years and will attend Duke University in the fall. She is most excited about spending time outside with so many kids and guiding them through a summer of fresh and exciting experiences, also to see the summer through their lens, and get back to her youthful "roots"! Ryan's favorite food or snack is any type of fruit, especially peaches and in her free time, she enjoys reading, running, and talking with others.

Carter FryeCarter Frye, from Clemmons NC, will be joining us this summer as part of our Climbing Staff. Carter attended Cheerio once as a camper, and he is excited to get away to the quiet of the mountains and be a great role model for the children. Currently Carter is attending UNC Chapel Hill and is studying Graphic Design and Entrepreneurship, eventually hoping to own a Business Launchpad. Carter enjoys art, anything athletic, working out, listening to music, and hanging with friends. His favorite snack of choice is cottage cheese or peanut butter with saltines.

Brooke NonaWe would like to welcome Brooke Nona to our Camp Cheerio Staff. Brooke is from Gastonia NC and is graduating from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in Biology. Brooke is working on our Riding Staff this summer and she plans to continue her education by attending Veterinarian School. A cheeseburger is Brooke's favorite food, while chips and salsa are her favorite snack. She is excited to work at a place that she has heard so many great things about, and looks forward to the easygoing and fun-spirited campers.
