Sarah PupaSarah Pupa is returning to Camp Cheerio to work as one of our Program Directors. Sarah has grown up coming to camp and has worked at Cheerio for the last 6 summers. Sarah is from Raleigh NC and attends UNC Chapel Hill. For many years, Sarah has volunteered at the Sea Turtle Hospital in Topsail Island. Sarah's favorite camp meal is Chicken Fingers, Curly Fries, and Brownies.

Parker McLaughlinAlthough Parker McLaughlin has attended Cheerio for 7 years, this will be her first summer on staff. Parker will be a Junior Counselor during Girls Camp. She is from Morehead City, NC and has played soccer since she was 4 years old. Parker's personal motto is, "Don't Quit Your Dreams". Nutella and Pretzels is Parker's favorite snack, while her favorite camp meal is our Friday night meal, the last night of each session.

Sarah BridgerSarah Bridger is returning to Cheerio this summer to work as our Media Coordinator for the second summer. Sarah is from High Point NC and is getting ready to graduate with a degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. Sarah plans to teach at a local school in the fall. Sarah is excited to return to Camp Cheerio, as it holds some of her most favorite memories and she can't imagine spending her summer anywhere else.

Tanazia WoodsTanazia Woods is from Winston-Salem, NC and this will be her first summer on staff at Camp Cheerio. Tanazia studies Sports Management and Marketing at Western Carolina, while also working daily with the Catamount football team. In her free time, Tanazia enjoys hanging out with her friends and watching Netflix. Her nickname is Naz and she enjoys snacking on a little fruit cup.

Brian WilsonBrian Wilson has worked for Camp Cheerio previously, but has been gone for 2 summers. We are excited to welcome Brian back as one of our CIT Directors this year. Brian is from Cary NC and is getting ready to graduate from Appalachian State University. Brian is a competitive shooter and a fun fact is that he shot his first gun at Camp Cheerio, while helping in a riflery class. Brian will be leaving in September to begin training in the Army. I guess you never know how Camp Cheerio will change your life plans.

Mahlon BradyMahlon Brady, sometime called Mae, will be serving during Coed Camp as a Junior Counselor this summer. Mahlon is from Greensboro and this will be her 7th year at Camp Cheerio. Mahlon loves to play basketball and ski, and is most excited to return to Cheerio to meet her campers and spend time together, especially during Cabin Time. Children need positive influences in their lives and Mahlon looks forward to being that person that makes difference.

Jack CrockerAlthough Jack Crocker is from High Point, he has lived every summer at Camp Cheerio, this being his 20th. Jack will be on staff this summer as part of the Climbing Staff for Girls Camp and as a Senior Counselor for Coed Camp. He is looking forward to having some of his past campers return, as well as excited for the many new faces he will serve. Jack attends UNC Chapel Hill and is currently studying Business. Jack enjoys playing golf, soccer and basketball, hanging with his friends, and eating his favorite snack, Goldfish!

Virginia Flora DavisKenny Fitzpatrick will be a new staff person with Camp Cheerio this summer. Kenny will be serving as a Lifeguard on the Aquatics Staff during Girls Camp. He is from Devon, PA and attends Notre Dame University. Kenny plays on the Men's Waterpolo team at school and is excited to also become a part of the Cheerio Team. He finds joy in helping others achieve their goals and looks forward to providing that to many campers this summer.

Abby WoodwardAbby Woodward is from Gastonia NC and attends Appalachian State University. Abby will be returning on staff for her 3rd summer as one of our Program Directors. Kids have so much to teach and Abby loves learning from each one. She is looking forward to helping campers discover new things about themselves as well. Abby's favorite camp meal is Meatball Subs.

Abbie WhitakerAs a first time staff member, Abbie Whitaker will be coming to Cheerio for her 7th summer. Abbie is from Pittsburgh PA and she loves the Pittsburgh Penguin Hockey team. She is excited to work with the campers and learn from them over her time as a Junior Counselor. Children provide high energy and creativity to all situations, which is a wonderful motivator for Abbie. Abbie's favorite snack is an Oreo Milkshake.

Abby SetashAbby Setash is a new staff person for Camp Cheerio. She will be serving as a Senior Counselor during Girls Camp and is so excited to spend time at a residence camp, which she never had the privilege of doing when she was younger. Abby is from Centreville, VA and attends Virgina Tech. She is studying Human Development, with plans to teach early elementary students. Abby enjoys running, reading, and hanging out with her friends.

Grace MarshallGrace Marshall, from Mooresville, NC will spend her 8th summer at Cheerio this year as a Junior Counselor for Girls Camp. Grace loves blueberries and her favorite camp meal is the French Toast Breakfast. Waterskiing with her family brings her lots of joy and she also enjoys playing tennis and watching movies. Grace hopes to one day become a lawyer, but in the meantime is happy returning to Camp Cheerio for the summer.

Susan Barker Fowler Susan Barker Fowler is from Salisbury, NC and attends Ole Miss University. She is currently studying History and Public Policy Leadership, planning to continue onto law school eventually. This summer will be Susan Barker's 12th year with Cheerio and she will be working on the Riding Staff during Girls Camp and as a Senior Counselor for Coed Camp. Her favorite type of food is any type of Cajun food, and sour cream and onion toasted Ritz chips is her favorite snack.

Josie ArmstrongJosie Armstrong will be serving as a Junior Counselor and Lifeguard this summer. She is from Kernersville, NC and plans to attend UNC Chapel Hill in the fall. Josie's favorite food, both at home and Cheerio is Mac and Cheese. Josie is certified in Wildlife Rehabilitation in North Carolina, which means she can care for injured or orphaned squirrels, opossums, rabbits, etc. She enjoys being with friends and hiking.

Elizabeth CarltonElizabeth Carlton grew up as a Cheerio camper, but this will be her first summer on staff. Elizabeth will be working as one of our Media Coordinators this summer. She attends Furman University and will be graduating in May with a degree in Chemistry. After the summer, she will begin her career in the field of medical devices. Elizabeth enjoys being outside, spending time with friends, and is excited to return to Camp Cheerio for another summer.

Carter LangeCarter Lange will be returning this summer as a Junior Counselor again. Carter enjoys photography, basketball, cooking, and watching movies in her free time. In the fall, Carter will be leaving her hometown of Durham, NC and spending her first semester at Northeastern University as a study abroad student in Germany. She is very excited to see her returning campers and looking forward to new faces too.

Alana EdwardsAlana Edwards will be joining Camp Cheerio for her first summer as a Senior Counselor and a member of our Aquatics Staff. Alana is from Sanford, NC and attends UNC Chapel Hill. Listening to music, being outdoors in the sunshine, and working with others brings much joy to Alana. Her favorite food is watermelon and pistachios are her favorite snack.

Mitch SaundersMitch Saunders, a 13-year veteran of Camp Cheerio, will be serving this year on our Climbing Staff for Girls Camp and as a Senior Counselor for Coed Camp. A fun fact about Mitch is that he once solved a Rubik's Cube in 17 seconds! Mitch is excited to work with our older guys again this summer, having the opportunity to make a positive impact on their lives. He loves pizza and especially the Chicken Biscuits and Grits at Camp Cheerio.

Colver KrietemeyerWe welcome Colver Krietemeyer to Cheerio as a Junior Counselor for Coed Camp this summer. Colver is from Greensboro and likes to spend his free time playing sports, particularly basketball, and hanging out with friends. Colver has grown up coming to Cheerio as a camper, but this will be his first summer on staff. He is excited to spend time with the campers because kids are so fun and they teach you to be your best self.

Sarah CoffeySarah Coffey will be a part of our Head Counselor Staff this summer. Sarah has spent many summers at Cheerio, as a camper, Counselor, and Climbing Staff. Sarah is from Raleigh, NC and attends UNC Chapel Hill, studying History and Public Policy. Compassion, loyalty, friendliness and a genuine heart are just a few of the wonderful characteristics Sarah brings to Cheerio. She loves her cat, Jesse, pizza, and hanging with friends.

Joey UzarskiJoey Uzarski will be a new Junior Counselor for Coed Camp this summer. She was born in California, but now lives in Durham. Joey loves being with kids because they make her laugh and she enjoys learning from them. When she has free time, Joey enjoys listening to music while snacking on some Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips. This will be Joey's 6th summer at Camp Cheerio.

Will SargeantAfter spending 10 years at Camp Cheerio, Will Sargeant plans to become a part of our staff as a Junior Counselor. Will is from Kinston, NC and enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with his friends. He is the proud owner of 4 cats and although he will miss them, he is excited to meet his new campers this summer. Will's favorite snack is orange slices and he plans to one day attend medical school.

Callie RiekCallie Riek, from Chapel Hill, also attends UNC Chapel Hill and is studying Journalism, with a minor in Screenwriting. Currently, Callie is abroad for school in Australia. Callie enjoys playing field hockey, reading, and she writes for The Daily Tarheel. Camp Cheerio is Callie's most favorite place in the world and she loves the energy and enthusiasm that kids provide, creating such a happy place.

Isabel McLeodIsabel McLeod is from Albemarle, NC and this will be her 5th year, her milestone year, at Cheerio, however her first on staff. Isabel is super excited to spend the summer with the girls in her cabin and activities. She looks forward to sharing her faith and lots of laughs with them! Isabel will be one of our Junior Counselors during Girls Camp this summer. Welcome Isabel.
