Past Participants in Outdoor Education
2004 Season
This fall season was one of the best fall Outdoor Education
seasons we have had hosting a total of 6 new schools and a total
of 20 over the course of spring and fall of 2004. With incredibly
hard work by our fall staff, volunteers from the board and the High Point staff, we were able to provide a safe and fun environment
for all the schools, students, teachers and the parents who came.
Our 2004 season was so successful that some of the
students from the schools took time out to let the staff know how
much fun they had at Cheerio:
Dear Jason, thank you
for taking me Spelunking, I highly enjoyed getting all mucky and
crawling through tight spaces, I REALLY DID! The time I went Spelunking
was the time I will always remember, thank you.
Dear Kristen, thank you so much for adding Camp Cheerio to my dictionary: (Spelled
out phonetically, and 1. fun 2. exciting 3. Daring. I loved struggling to get up the mountain and
found an arrowhead and a snake. Now I want to come for the summer.
Dear Rerun, thank you for getting me another soda
when my bag ripped and my soda fell out. I hope to go to Camp Cheerio
next summer you made my Camp Cheerio experience a great one.
Dear Jamie, thank you so much for helping me with archery. All of your tips really
helped me improve, finally letting me stay xtra time, because that really helped too!
Dear Camp Cheerio, after this trip I learned that camp is a great place to go; especially
Camp Cheerio. And because of you Jenni, I figured out that I was a pretty good climber.
I have to say the food there was really great, I think better than my mom's food. It tasted like home
cooking and many other camps I have gone to didn't even come close. Canoeing was my favorite because
I got to spend time with a new student and she became one of my best friends.
Thank you for a great time, I enjoyed everything, the food was good too and the cabins were really
nice and fun to be in.

Thanks for the most successful Camp Cheerio trip ever, I think the kids enjoyed themselves
more this time than any other of the previous 10 times I have been a part of this trip.

Thanks to you and your staff for an absolutely awesome time at camp. The 8th grade students
and teachers came back raving about what an awesome time they had. My teachers tell me that
you and your staff put a special caring touch on all you do, thanks for taking such good care
