Cheerio Adventures is a wilderness tripping program designed to give participants,
ages 10-16, a challenging, fun, and memorable summer camp experience. Through
activities such as mountain biking, backpacking, kayaking, white water rafting,
caving, canoeing, and rock climbing, each participant has the opportunity to
experience the excitement, beauty, and self-fulfillment of each trip. Working
together in small groups, participants learn how to work as a team while learning
the skills necessary for their experience. More importantly, they have the opportunity
to learn more about themselves and their capabilities. The emphasis is on the
individual participant; a 5:1 participant to staff ratio is maintained so that
each participant receives the personal attention needed to develop to their
fullest potential.
Cheerio Adventures is dedicated to preserving our natural environment. Teaching participants more about the world in which we live - and our relationship to it - is an important aspect of our courses. To this end, we teach minimum impact camping techniques and living skills, and share ideas on how we can
reduce man's impact on the environment in our day-to-day lives.
The goal of Cheerio Adventures is for each
participant to grow in appreciation and knowledge of:
Self
Nature
Relationships with others, and
God and God's love
